Become a Poll Worker
As an election inspector, you will be responsible for verifying voter registration information, verifying voter's eligibiity, assisting voters with questions on Election Day, and helping setup and take down the poll sites if available. We may also ask election inspectors to help in our office prior to the election(s) with processing absentee ballots with early in-person voting and providing early voting to nursing home facilities to residents onsite.
All Election Inspectors are required to attend training prior serving in an election. Our training offers multiple daytime and evening options.
This a paid position. Training time is also paid. We provide lunch and dinner for election inspectors on Election Day.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
ELECTION INSPECTOR:
- Must be qualified electors of Dodge or Fond Du Lac County, Wisconsin
- Be a U.S. citizen over the age of 18
- Be able to read and write English fluently
- NOT be a candidate for office on ballot being issued in assigned poll site.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT INSPECTOR:
- Be a 16-17 year old U.S. citizen
- Be currently enrolled in grades 9 to 12 in a public, private or tribal school
- Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or equivalent (OR, if GPA is less than 3.0, be able to supply written approval from their school principal)
- Must supply written approval from parent/guardian
- Reside in the City of Waupun
